Reports to : VP sales and marketing Location: Shanghai Position Summary This position will support current and medium term sales and profit growth plans; increase market share by understanding the current market situation for two product groups: Dibasic fatty acids and its adjacent markets; Bisol and related biomass derived bulk chemicals. Through a market research standard process, the candidate will create market screens that will assist product managers with the development of a product road map; whether line extensions, bolt on products, adjacent products and or a new platform. These screens will consist of confirmed and accurate market information on market size, segments, regulatory changes, technologies used, competitor’s supply position, the capacity, estimated cost structure, channel of sale, and price trends. This position will need to be able to triangulate market data, work cross-functionally with R&D, production and sales and effectively process data into an understanding of the market conditions. Key Responsibilities -Achieve revenue and profit objectives. -Using standard work, deliver market screens for DCA, ABE and select products in adjacent markets. -Using standard work, create and update a capabilities overview that benchmarks competitors in China and Western markets. -Using standard work, track price trends for direct and indirect products. -Prepare and present market screens for strategic planning: framing the current situation and game we are playing. Requirements -Education – Bsc in Chemistry or chemical engineering; MBA is preferred. -Work experience - Minimum of 3 years market research experience in a multi-national company; sales or R&D prior to a product manager role. -Skills required –.
